Cedering Fox

Artistic Director

Cedering Fox has been creating, developing, producing and directing film, theatre and radio scripts for over two decades. She received an anonymous nomination for The United States Artists Grant, a $50,000 prize recognizing artistic excellence, for her work helming WordTheatre. A partner in some of LA's best literary salons since the early 1990's, including The Great Writers' Series: Literary Evenings at the MET, Spoken Interludes and Literary Stages, she founded her own word-fest, WordTheatre®, in 2003. Fox has long been recognized as one of the industry's preeminent voice-over artists (www.cederingfox.com). The daughter of a poet and a mathematician, Cedering received her undergraduate training at Oberlin College and her MFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.


Kirsty Peart

WordTheatre UK Producer

Kirsty Peart is an animation feature writer and independent film producer. A Cambridge University graduate, Peart runs WordTheatre® UK. She produces all WordTheatre® UK events including our benefits in London for organizations such as Macmillan Cancer Society, TreeHouse for Autism Education, The Parkinson's Appeal and Fairbridge along with the 4 day Latitude Festival which takes place each summer in Suffolk. Peart and her husband host WordTheatre's Writers Workshop and Retreat in Edale.


Darrell Larson

WordTheatre NY Advisor

Darrell Larson has had a lifelong involvement with the exploration of language and performance. He founded, produced and directed THE ACT OF THE POET series for the Poetry Society of America and has produced several spoken word series. As a theater director, Darrell has staged over 30 plays and as an actor, he has most recently appeared in Jonathan Demme's THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE, Adam Rapp's WINTER PASSING and Jim Ponsoldt's OFF THE BLACK. Larson is also a respected teacher, currently at Columbia University's Graduate Film department and the Actor's Center in Manhattan.


Melissa Loftus

WordTheatre LA Managing Director

Melissa Loftus handles all administrative work for WordTheatre. In addition, she manages a revolving staff of interns, does ticketing and graphic design, oversees publicity, research and grant writing, facilitates casting and assists in story selection and event production. Loftus holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles, studied Design at Santa Monica College and is currently earning her MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business.


Interns

WordTheatre's seasonal staff of interns are vital to the success of the organization. They research literature, work on social networking, assist in administrative duties, make phone calls and act as production assistants at live events.
