Since 2003, WordTheatre has been creating special event programming for important national and international organizations. In the past five years, we have specifically tailored theatrical evenings to benefit Autism Speaks, NARSAD, Maternal Fetal Care International, The Pushcart Prize Fellowships, Cure Autism Now, The Parkinson's Appeal (U.K.), TreeHouse (U.K.) and PEN USA.The theme of each show is carefully researched and structured. We draw upon literature, poetry, fact, memoir and biography to weave together a script which is then performed by well-known, working actors. Sometimes, we will feature a live band and vocalists singing songs that enhance the particular theme. What follows is a partial list of the actors that we've brought together to perform in these benefits. Actors, musicians and audience members all experience the emotional and educational power of these WordTheatre benefit performances. We believe that stories bring people together and remind us of how similar and completely interdependent we are. People united in a vision can change the world.
