- Glenne Headly read “On the U.S.S. Fortitude,” first published in The New Yorker, and featured in A Kind of Flying (W.W.Norton 2003).
- Mimi Rogers read “Kieth”, recently reprinted in A Kind of Flying (W.W. Norton 2003).
- Saul Rubinek read the 2001 Pushcart Prize winning story “The Ordinary Son,” from Ron’s collection At the Jim Bridger (Picador 2003).
- Ron Carlson read “Disclaimer” from At the Jim Bridger (Picador 2003).
About the author:
Ron Carlson is the author eight books of fiction, which include novels such as The Speed of Light and Truants, as well as the story collections A Kind of Flying and At the Jim Bridger. His stories have been published in Esquire, Harpers, New Yorker, Gentlemen’s Quarterly, Epoch, and the North American Review. Through his work he has received numerous awards including the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Fiction, the Cohen Prize, and a National Society of Arts and Letters Literature Award.
