Taylor Negron Remade as Fiction
April 1, 2007 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
“My work is not done until I have made a woman faint and a grown man cry”
An Invocation With Violin, Cello, Piano and Human Voice, presented by WordTheatre and Delta Highway
This was a unique fusion of stories and soul-stirring music. Taylor presented his spin on Karen Carpenter, Charles Manson, and the storm surge of Katrina accompanied by Lili Haydn (called “the Jimi Hendrix of the violin” by George Clinton), Ben Hong on cello (principle cellist with the LA Philharmonic) and Adam MacDougall on piano. Music from Hadyn’s release on Nettwerk Records was performed.
The event included “Tuesdays with Lucy”, excerpted for KPCC’s Off-Ramp, a heartfelt account of his teenage acting teacher Lucille Ball, plus several new stories.
