Christian Banfield helped found WordTheatre UK in 2003. He is a director, photographer and creative director. He has been in the visual arts all his life – starting with a degree in drama and contemporary dance and with a stint with a spin off company of the Pina Bausch Dance theatre under his belt. A subsequent series of international photojournalistic assignments with food and travel writer Quentin Crewe saw him commit to making this is passion. The ‘apprenticeship’ continued, and soon film production became his passion. With projects including In the Name of the Father to the National Lottery Launch, Prince to Blur, his work took him on a tour of the globe.
From there, Banfield established Schmick, in 2002. Located in the heart of Notting Hill, the company boasts a great deal of experience and an even greater wealth of resident experts. Banfield still can be found behind the camera, and also works as Creative Director, maintaining the integrity of every piece of work that bears the Schmick name
